Terms

Website terms of use

The simple rules for using underhilladventures.com.

Who we are

underhilladventures.com is provided by Underhill Adventures. Underhill Adventures is run by Danny Underhill, a sole trader. Contact: contact@underhilladventures.com. We do not publish a postal address: please contact us by email.

These terms apply when you use this website. By using it, you agree to them. If you are a child, please read them with a grown-up. Our privacy policy and cookies page explain how information is handled.

Using the site

  • You may use the site and its adventures for free, for personal use at home and for teaching in schools.
  • Children should use the site with the knowledge of a parent, carer or teacher.
  • Please do not try to break, overload or get around the site’s security, or copy the site in bulk with automated tools.
  • The site is a working prototype. We may change, pause or remove parts of it at any time, and we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors.

Our stories, characters and pictures

The stories, questions, characters (including Oli, Ru, Professor Harlen and Brog), artwork, logo and website design belong to Underhill Adventures. You may print certificates, reports and pages for your own family or class. Please do not sell, republish or reuse our content or characters elsewhere without written permission from us. Fonts are used under their own open licences.

Learning content

We work hard to make the stories accurate, age-appropriate and helpful for reading practice, but they are not a substitute for a teacher’s or parent’s judgement. Results, stars and reports are a guide to practice and are not formal assessments.

Schools and paid plans

Any school subscription, pilot or trial is covered by a separate written agreement, which takes priority over these terms where they differ. [Link or reference to school terms, when ready.]

Where we link to other websites, we are not responsible for their content or how they handle information.

Our responsibility to you

The site is provided free of charge “as is”. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss caused by using the site or by it being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer. [Legal review to confirm wording.]

Changes and law

We may update these terms; the date below shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. [Confirm jurisdiction; consumers in Scotland or Northern Ireland may also use their local courts.]
